What are other ways that citizens can get involved?
The easiest way to begin getting involved is to attend meetings of the Planning Commission and the City Council. Additional public outreach meetings are planned in the future for the "Snoqualmie 2030: Comprehensive Plan Update" to discuss issues and develop recommendations.
Planning Commission Meetings
The Planning Commission meetson the first and third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Snoqualmie City Hall. It is designated by City Code as the responsible citizen panel for advising the City Council on comprehensive planning and land use issues. Accordingly, the commission will be the primary venue for public involvement in guiding the Snoqualmie 2030: Comprehensive Plan Update. All Commission meetings are open to the public and interested community members are welcome to attend! The Planning Commission will host a variety of public involvement meetings, including workshops, speaker forums, and formal hearings.
Public Hearings
Public hearings will be conducted by the Planning Commission and City Council. These will include opportunity for comments by the public, both verbal and written.
Public Meetings
In addition to the Planning Commission’s meetings and public hearings, general public meetings may be held at key project milestones for the public to provide feedback and suggestions. Focus groups may be conducted, if needed, to accommodate certain community interests in select elements of the Comprehensive Plan. Staff will also pursue outreach efforts with businesses, other community groups, and interested parties.
