I care deeply about Snoqualmie and its future. This is where my children and grandchildren live and where I work, play and worship. I am forever grateful to those who encouraged me to seek public office at a critical time in Snoqualmie’s history. It has been a joy to work with the Mayor, my fellow council members, city staff, as well as citizens and merchants since 2006.

I currently serve as the chair of the Community & Economic Affairs Committee and am a member of the Public Safety Committee. I am the City Council liaison to the Northwest Railway Museum, Meadowbrook Farm Preservation Association,  Economic Development Commission, Lodging Tax Advisory Committee, and the Arts Commission.

This is a time to implement our Economic Development Plan. We have challenges in historic downtown as well as on Snoqualmie Ridge. Our success is interestingly tied to that of our neighbors and partners, like the Northwest Railway Museum, the Snoqualmie Valley School District, the Snoqualmie Tribe and others. The healthy interaction with these partners is refreshing and mutually satisfying.

This is where I work, live, play, and worship. This is where I want to better serve your needs and interests as citizens of this wonderful city.

My family moved to Snoqualmie for the quality of life, beautiful neighborhoods and friendly, small-town atmosphere. I am committed to assuring that Snoqualmie will always be a safe and healthy place.

Currently I serve as Chair fo the Planning and Parks Committee and am a member of the Finance and Administration Committee. I am the Council liaison to the Snoqualmie Valley Chamber of Commerce. My goals are to support our local businesses, promote tourism, and attract new businesses to our city. During our rapid growth, I have implemented financial practices that ensure long-term prosperity and sustainability.

As a previous chair of the Planning & Parks Council Committee, my decisions exemplified my ongoing commitment to development that is well-mitigated, meets the highest environmental standards, and preserves our small-town character. I am an advocate for our local police and fire departments. I strongly support the Corps 205 project and future flood reduction efforts.

I work for you. I will always be available and accountable.

The character and beauty of Snoqualmie drew my family here.

I serve as the Chair of the Public Works Committee and am a member of the Planning and Parks Committee. I am the City Council liaison to the Snoqualmie Library Advisory Board.

As a council member, I apply my project management and multi-million dollar budget administration experience to balancing the levels and mix of services that best serve our community and the need to reduce the dependence on unsustainable revenues. I seek to energize our business districts, contain cost growth and, to the extent possible with your support, keep services local.

Approximately a third of our city’s current operational budget is dependent upon nonrecurring development revenue, which will disappear with the completion of SR II. Property tax revenue is restricted to a 1% annual growth, although operational costs have grown at a rate in excess of 5% annually.

As a father of two children, I work toward a bright future for the families of Snoqualmie.

The character and beauty of Snoqualmie drew my family here. I offer my time, creativity, MBA education, experience in not-for-profit management, and skills as a business development project manager to ensure that our families and our children can continue to enjoy this beautiful city we call home.

I serve as Chair of the Public Safety Committee and am a member of the Planning and Parks Committee. I am the City Council liaison to the Suburban Cities Association. Snoqualmie is facing issues similar to many small towns in Washington:  budget shortfalls, the need to maintain the character of the town in the face of residential growth, and the need for commercial growth, while not compromising our quality of life.

As a member of your City Council since 2004, I am dedicated to using my business background and education to make sound decisions that secure a balanced, affordable future for our community with a budget that reflects the priorities of our citizens – safe neighborhoods; green space, parks and trails; enriched community facilities and programs; and a vibrant business community.

I currently serve as a member of the Finance & Administration and Community & Economic Affairs Committees. In years past I have served as Mayor Pro-Tem and Chair of the Public Works, Finance & Administration, and Community & Economic Affairs Committees, where I have been a driving force in Snoqualmie’s economic development strategy.

During my tenure I have worked to secure Snoqualmie’s business economy and downtown core while ensuring carefully managed growth that preserves our small-town character.  I have provided strong leadership in our financial practices and policy decisions.  In order to decrease the City’s reliance on property taxes and one-time revenues, I and my colleagues on the City Council have honed financial policies, judiciously cut costs, and pursued increased revenues through economic development. This has allowed us to successfully weather the recent economic downturn while maintaining existing services and even expanding services where needed.

It is my honor to serve the citizens of Snoqualmie as a member of your City Council.

I have been a Snoqualmie resident all my life and am now retired.  My wife, Carol, and I have raised two children in Snoqualmie.  They now reside in Seattle and Wenatchee. I now have time to give to the City again and want to be involved in the planning of the future and retaining the uniqueness of this area.

My background with the City is extensive, having served eight years as the Mayor of Snoqualmie, seven years on the City Council, and five years on the Planning Commission. Currently I serve as a member of the Community & Economic Affairs and Public Works Committees. I am the City Council liaison to the Snoquamlie Watershed Forum.

My goals for the City include helping to plan the long-range vision of Snoqualmie while keeping its culture, bringing all citizens together as one, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and considerig all environmental concerns to protect and preserve this wonderful area where we reside.

As our population grows, it is important to me that we retain Snoqualmie's rich heritage of the past 100 years, its beautiful environment that attracted so many of us, and a safe environment in which to raise our families.

I have been elected by the City Council to serve as the 2011 Mayor Pro-Tem of Snoqualmie, supporting Mayor Larson in his duties. I have been on the Snoqualmie City Council for four years, currently serve as chair of the Finance & Adminitration Committee, and am a member of the Public Works Committee.

My highest priorities for Snoqualmie are reasonable urban development, robust economic development, and fiscal responsibility. It is important that a business-friendly environment is fostered in Snoqualmie. Capitalizing on tourism and revitalizing downtown is a critical component to the city's sustainability, but only if the historic character is maintained and traffic flow well-engineered.

Our citizens are passionate about our community and want people who share that drive to represent them. I am passionate about what I believe in and am thoughtful and deliberate when making decisions. Thank you for allowing me to represent our citizens on this city Council.
