Home Elevation Program

The City of Snoqualmie Home Elevation Program reduces public health and safety risks to residents and property owners living in Snoqualmie's flood hazard areas. Home elevation involves raising the finished first floor above the 100-year flood elevation, thus substantially reducing the threat of future flood damage.

Funding Sources: The City of Snoqualmie relies on federal and state grant opportunities to fund the elevation program including the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, Pre-Disaster Mitigation Grant Program, Flood Mitigation Assistance Program, and Severe Repetitive Loss Program

Program Eligibility: In general, any structure located in a flood-prone area within the City of Snoqualmie may be eligible for these programs. Because the City relies on federal and state funds, which are subject to a competitive process,  structures with a history of repetitive flooding and documented damages will be more likely to receive funds if it passes FEMA’s Benefit Cost Analysis.

Please note that there have been more property owners interested in elevating than funds available. The City maintains a list of property owners  participating in the program, so potential homes are already identified when a funding opportunity becomes available.

DR1817 Hazard Mitigation Grant Program

Following is an update for the DR1817 Hazard Mitigation Grant Program for home elevations.

The Washington State Emergency Management Division (EMD) has approved the close-out documentation for the DR1682 and DR1734 home elevation grant programs. With that said, the State EMD is now drafting a contract between the State and City of Snoqualmie for the DR1817 home elevation grant program. Concurrently, the City is working towards obtaining project management and architectural services.

Once the contracts are approved and the project management/architectural services are secured, the City will schedule a project kick off meeting with the homeowners. The City will notify the home owners when this meeting will take place.

We will provide an update to the home owners in February or sooner if new information becomes available.

If you have any questions, please call Lauren Hollenbeck at 425-888-5337.
