The City of Snoqualmie Home Elevation Program reduces public health and safety risks to residents and property owners living in Snoqualmie's flood hazard areas. Home elevation involves raising the finished first floor above the 100-year flood elevation, thus substantially reducing the threat of future flood damage.

Funding Sources: The City of Snoqualmie relies on federal and state grant opportunities to fund the elevation program including the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, Pre-Disaster Mitigation Grant Program, Flood Mitigation Assistance Program, and Severe Repetitive Loss Program. 

Program Eligibility: In general, any structure located in a flood-prone area within the City of Snoqualmie may be eligible for these programs. Because the City relies on federal and state funds, which are subject to a competitive process,  structures with a history of repetitive flooding and documented damages will be more likely to receive funds if it passes FEMA’s Benefit Cost Analysis.

Please note that there have been more property owners interested in elevating than funds available. The City maintains a list of property owners  participating in the program, so potential homes are already identified when a funding opportunity becomes available.
