The City of Snoqualmie is a dynamic and growing community. There are many projects - large and small - that are in the works and being managed by various city departments. Following are some of the many projects taking place throughout Snoqualmie. Please click on a project's title to learn more about it.

Town Center Infrastructure Improvement Project
Construction for the “Town Center Infrastructure Improvement Project” in downtown Snoqualmie is scheduled from March through October 2010.  This project is part of a larger downtown revitalization effort by the City of Snoqualmie that will eventually encompass a land use, physical design, and development plan for the downtown commercial district. Project work will include replacement of water lines and pipes, undergrounding of utility poles, road and sidewalk work, installation of new street lighting, and other improvements. It will also include the addition of significant design elements with historic and railroad themes to reflect the city’s heritage.

Snoqualmie Community Center
The City of Snoqualmie is planning to build the first phase of a YMCA-operated community center using funds currently available. It would be located in Snoqualmie Community Park, 35016 SE Ridge Street, next to Cascade View Elementary School. The current plan does not rely on any voted bond or voted operating levy because it is based on a phased approach beginning with a smaller core facility, and also because the YMCA will be responsible for operations and maintenance.

Shoreline Master Program
In 2003, the Washington State Department of Ecology adopted new Shoreline Master Program (SMP) guidelines to emphasize ecologically appropriate development. As a result, Snoqualmie’s Shoreline Master Program, adopted in 1974 with subsequent revisions in 1986 and 1992, also must be updated. The City submitted a Draft SMP update in 2003, which was reviewed by the Department of Ecology against the new guidelines.  The City is continuing the previous update process to complete the SMP revisions and ensure consistency with the State master program guidelines.

Hazard Mitigation Planning
The City of Snoqualmie is embarking on a planning process to prepare for and lessen the impacts of specified natural disasters. Responding to federal mandates in the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 (Public Law 106-390), this project will update its current hazard mitigation plan for the City of Snoqualmie. The outcome of the project will be a FEMA-approved single-agency multi-hazard mitigation plan including a flood mitigation plan for the City.
