Each type of permit has an accompanying fee schedule designed to provide the revenue required to service the particular permit. Most permit fee schedules are a small base fee with an added fee for each fixture or item regulated by the permit. An example would be a plumbing permit base fee of $26.00 with an additional $8.40 per plumbing fixture.
Building permits are calculated based upon the value of the structure. The value is determined by using a set dollar amount per square foot. Each type of building use and each type of building construction are given a distinct "per square foot value". Fees are then assigned using a sliding scale based upon the value of the structure.
The intent of the "per square foot" assigned value is to level the field, that is that no matter what the actual cost of construction might be, each project pays the same fee for the same service.
Permit types regulated by the Snoqualmie Building Department are listed in the navigation menu to the right. Select the appropriate permit type for specific fee calculations.
