Community Development

The Community Development Department manages the Building Division, as well as current and long range planning activities in the City of Snoqualmie.

Current planning implements adopted land use plans, policies, and development regulations through review of specific land use and development applications. Current planning manages all land use approvals within City limits, and oversees development regulation compliance to help create a more livable city through high-quality design, environmental protection, and the reduction and mitigation of potential project impacts.

Long range planning addresses future growth, development, and conservation within the City through the development and adoption of Snoqualmie 2032: the Snoqualmie Comprehensive Plan, and development regulations contained in the Snoqualmie Municipal Code. Long range planning also includes various strategic planning activities such as economic development, urban design, and floodplain management.

Snoqualmie Municipal Code (SMC) 17.55.020 and the Offical 2016 Zoning Map provide beginning details about property zoning.

Questions about zoning, development regulations, flood damage mitigation grants, and long range planning issues should be directed to Community Development planning staff at 425-888-5337 or Mark Hofman, Director, at 425-888-8007.
