Communications Program

Providing the public -- including residents, businesses, and visitors -- with timely news and information related to city business is a key component of the Communications Program in Snoqualmie. There are many ways that citizens can receive communications from the city: by subscribing to the City News email distribution list, checking for website updates, listening to the local 1650 AM radio station, and registering for REVERSE 911.

Questions may be directed to info@ci.snoqualmie.wa.us or call 425-888-1555 ext. 1125.

Joan Pliego leads the Communications Program for the City of Snoqualmie. She also serves as the city's Public Information Officer and media liaison.  It is important to her that information about city business be provided to the public quickly and accurately to ensure the highest degree of transparency and public service.

In addition to general communications, Joan supports the city administration and all departments by developing marketing strategies to promote Snoqualmie's many offerings for residents and tourists alike. Prior to working for the City of Snoqualmie, she held management positions in marketing communications for several high-tech corporations in East King County.

Joan was raised in the Puget Sound region, earned a degree in history at the University of Washington, and moved to Snoqualmie in 2001.
