The citizens of Snoqualmie enjoy beautiful parks, trails, and open spaces. The city currently owns 34 parks, 540 acres of open space, and more than 25 miles of trails. Many individual and group volunteers in Snoqualmie already donate their time to keep our natural resources beautiful and our community livable through the adopt-a-park program. This program offers the opportunity for people to get more involved in their community in a way that promotes civic pride and appreciation.

What does adopting a park involve?
Adopting a park involves a time commitment for a park or a section of park for a minimum of one year with a minimum of four activities per year. When you adopt a park as an individual or a group, you will work with the City of Snoqualmie to help keep parks, trails and open spaces clean, safe and attractive. Routine activities include picking up litter, reporting vandalism, doing routine landscape maintenance and keeping an eye on the park. The City asks that adopt-a-park sponsors not edge, cut, prune, or pull any landscaping or trees before speaking with a Park & Recreation Department employee. The City of Snoqualmie will install a sign recognizing your contribution to the community at your assigned area.

Who can adopt a park?
The Adopt-A-Park Program is open to individuals, youth groups, neighborhood associations, civic groups, religious organizations, service organizations, school groups and teams, businesses and other community organizations throughout the City of Snoqualmie. Organizations that endorse political candidates, parties, legislation or initiatives are ineligible. Minors (under 18 years old) will need to submit a completed parental consent form to the City of Snoqualmie prior to participating in adopt-a-park activities and will require adult supervision.

How do you sign up to adopt a park?
The process of adopting a park, trail or open space is a simple one:

1. Fill out the application posted below (either group or individual) and return it to the City of Snoqualmie Parks & Recreation Department at PO Box 987, Snoqualmie, WA, 98065 or in person at City Hall. You can apply at any time during the year.The City will call you when your application has been approved and work with you on dates and activities.
2. You will need to return the adopt-a-park and volunteer agreements as well as liability releases and consent for criminal background check for each participant. These forms will be provided to you after your Adopt-A-Park application is processed.
