Do you know of a special tree in a city park or city planting strip? The City of Snoqualmie adopted a landmark tree program in 2010 to identify and celebrate important public trees in the community.
It’s simple to nominate a landmark tree. Tree(s) may be nominated as landmark trees based on several factors:
· Specimen: Trees may be of a distinctive size, age or beauty for its species or a tree that is rare to the area.
· Historic: Trees may have an association with a historic structure, event, district or person.
· Landmark: Trees may be considered a landmark for the city, a neighborhood or specific location.
Nominations are considered by the Parks and Recreation Department and Parks Board with a final determination by the Snoqualmie City Council. Landmark trees are only specified on public property. Please fill out the landmark tree nomination form to get the process started.
