
The Public Works Department provides many of the basic services that affect the daily lives of Snoqualmie citizens.
The responsibilities encompass the administration, planning, maintenance, construction management and technical engineering of the city’s infrastructure including the transportation system, storm water collection system, water supply, distribution systems and treatment, sanitary sewer treatment and collection, and other capital facilities.
Our goal is to provide efficient and reliable infrastructure essential to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public and to enhance the quality of life for residents, businesses, and visitors.
Public Works
The responsibilities of the Public Works Department include maintenance and repair of the City infrastructure, property and equipment. This includes water distribution, wastewater collection, wastewater treatment, street maintenance, landscaping, and vehicle maintenance. The Department also provides snow and ice control, flood assistance and various programs for our residents. The department is divided into five divisions: Streets, Water, Wastewater, Fleet and Facilities.
Engineering
The Engineering Division oversees the design, development, and construction of public facilities and capital improvements for City projects and private development projects within city limits. These facilities include roadways, water supply, wastewater treatment plant and storm drainage. In addition, this department is responsible for issuing permits for any work to be performed on City property or within City right-of-way. This department also secures funding for projects, seeks funds from outside agencies (state and federal sources) and prepares all required project documentation and regulatory agency reports.
