Current Sustainability Work

For the 2010 year, City Staff is researching how to integrate sustainability further in City Policy and in the City Comprehensive Plan.  This research includes work on tracking City Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, bicycle and pedestrian planning, and assessing a range of policies for their ability to contribute to City of Snoqualmie efforts.  If you would like to be involved in City efforts towards sustainability, one of the best ways to become familiar with various policies being researched is through Planning Commission meetings on the Comprehensive Plan.  Click here to learn more about our Comprehensive Plan or click here to submit comments on topics or ideas you would like the City to consider.

Most recently, the City of Snoqualmie Planning Commission hosted a free Sustainability Speakers Forum at Snoqualmie City Hall once a month from February to June of 2010 to benefit citizens and City officials alike.  Sessions brought in local and regional experts to discuss topics of green community planning such as transportation, energy, environmental health, and planning for future growth in the City.  Snoqualmie residents and business owners, as well as those from surrounding communities throughout the Valley, were encouraged to attend; all sessions were free, and provided tips on how to be greener in the house and in one’s community. This page provides Speakers session downloads and links to additional information.

GO GREEN CARDS

For the Sustainability Speakers Series, a series of GO Green cards were provided with tips for citizens on how to green up, and save cash and calories while they do so.  Please see below.
