Household Hazardous Waste

Household hazardous waste is leftover material that has Danger, Warning, or Caution on the label. These are banned from local landfills and should not be put in garbage cans.

Household hazardous waste can be dropped off at designated King County disposal locations or at the roving Wastemobile. To find the service schedule for the Wastemobile, a complete list of what is accepted and not accepted, recycling information, and more, visit the King County Household Hazardous Waste website or call the Household Hazards Line at 206-296-4692

The Household Hazardous Wastemobile is for King County residents and qualifying small businesses. Businesses can learn more on the King County Small Business Hazardous Waste Disposal Program web pages or by calling the Business Waste Line at 206-263-8899.

There are limits on the quantities residents can discard at the Wastemobile and household hazardous waste facilities. For larger quantities, call the Household Hazards Line, Monday to Friday (except holidays). 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 206-296-4692 or toll free at 1-888-869-4233.
