Snoqualmie Capital Improvements Plan Charts Course for 2020-2025
The Snoqualmie City Council approved the 2020-2025 Non-Utilities Capital Improvement Plan at the August 26, 2019 City Council meeting.
The plan includes new and ongoing citywide projects and programs that meet the City Council goals and objectives to maintain and sustainably replace infrastructure and provide and protect services that enhance residents’ quality of life, among other goals.
“I’m very pleased with the approval of the Non-Utilities Capital Improvement Plan, which focuses on the maintenance and improvement of City facilities, parks, and transportation needs,” said Mayor Matt Larson. “This plan is the result of ongoing work by city staff and those who have served on the City Council or a commission, past or present. This plan will allow us to continuously attend to the projects and programs that support and serve our residents, businesses, and visitors to Snoqualmie.”
Of particular significance, facilities and parks projects and programs will include the preservation of playgrounds, trails, sport courts, and parking lots in parks throughout Snoqualmie; expansion of the Snoqualmie Community Center; and the rehabilitation of the Snoqualmie Point Park shelter.
Transportation projects and programs will include continuation of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) Program; street resurfacing and sidewalk replacement; State Route 202/Meadowbrook Way channelization; and the Town Center North Improvement Project and South Parking Project.
Additional projects include a new all-inclusive playground at Centennial Fields; downtown pedestrian signals; Snoqualmie Parkway rehabilitation; Sandy Cove Park improvements; riverfront land acquisitions; the Riverwalk Project Phases 1 and 2; Kimball Creek Box culverts; and Phase 3 of the Town Center Improvement Project.
Some of the projects included in the Non-Utilities Capital Improvement Plan are subject to grant funding and other contributions.
The Non-Utilities Capital Improvement Plan 2020-2025 plan document and full descriptions of the projects and programs is on the city website at www.cityofsnoqualmie.org.
